Mars

Mars describes our relationship to anger and agression, our sense of competitiveness and our will to assert ourselves and win fights.

I think it’s super interesting how this can be seen on a collective level.

In ancient Rome, the god of war Mars was a really important and popular deity that received many offerings. This is because Rome was and Empire that was constantly fighting in wars and battles so having the god of war on your side was beneficial.

In Ancient Greece, however, the Greek equivalent to Mars, Ares, was seen as savage and bloodthirsty and had a bad reputation. In Greece, philosophy and art were more important than war. Since they identified as rational and cultured, they rejected aggressive Marsian behavior and saw it as bad.

It’s the same with individuals: Those who own their anger and passion usually find a more constructive and healthy outlet than those who reject it, demonize aggression and project their own frustration onto others.

A Mars in fire or air signs receiving mostly good aspects like trines and sextiles will find a more healthy and constructive outlet of anger.

A Mars in earth or water signs receiving mostly bad aspects like oppositions and squares will be expressed in a more unhealthy and destructive manner.

Sag / Sag Dominant

Anyone with prominent Sagittarius energy understands the pursuit of happiness, the pursuit of what is good for them in that minute. Yet, this doesn’t always play out in the way you might expect. For example, they may find happiness in good health, yet they know that in that minute, a cigarette would genuinely bring them a sense of happiness, at least for now. They have a wonderful way of asking, what would make me cheerful now, what would bring me the most joy in this minute, and they tend to go from there. The next minute it may be to study something that takes their interest, or to eat fresh fruit, the next a bar of chocolate, because they know that in a way, there can be happiness found in lifes treats. The pursuit of happiness takes many twists and turns, many changes and conflicts, but the Sagittarian spirit finds a way to shine on through much confusion.

Taurus

Physical sensation can conjure up emotions for Taurus as the fixed Earth sign, whether that is the feel of a certain fabric, the smell of a certain scent, a noise perhaps, a certain taste, anything that makes that connection between them and the tangible world. For example, if someone regularly wears a certain perfume, they start to associate that person with the notes of that perfume, often creating an emotional attachment not only to the person, but the scent too, that physical reminder of someone or something, which can be lovely, or can be painful. Taurus can feel wisps of their life encompassed is a sensual expression. A place no longer becomes just a place, but an environment with baggage, a scent no longer just a scent, but one with connotations. It can make life more rich in a way, a more intense experience. The notion that Taurus, as an Earth Sign, surely cannot be sensitive is certainly wrong.
